Professional editorial photography
Editorial topics: People Concepts
A good professional editorial photographer has to juggle many aspects of a job in order
to please the Art Director/Client. Skill behind the camera is only the beginning.
-
Offering a unique view of the mundane.
-
Fitting this view into the layout.
-
Scheduling and coaxing reluctant, busy professionals to pose for a photo.
-
Having the film/image delivered before the deadline.
What follows are editorial tearsheets form some of my many
assignments.

Environmental portraiture
works to revel a person in the context of their surroundings
giving the viewer of the photograph an insight
to the person and to the text of the article. Together, text and
editorial photography
create
an appealing product.

Turning a nebulous
concept into a photographic reality is one of my favorite things. When
given the freedom by an Art Director to illustrate a concept. I start
with storyboards and sketches. Working with metaphors, relations,
contrasts and visual ideas I shape my thoughts into a working editorial
photograph.
