The highest point of Diamond Head crater, Le'ahi Peak rises 761 feet above Kapiolani Park, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, USA. Diamond Head is one of the best-known volcanic craters in the world and is a island Icon that can be seen from Waikiki and along the south coast of Oahu. Diamond Head was named by English sailors who found calcite crystals in the rocks on the slopes of the crater and thought they were diamonds. The volcanic crater is made from compacted volcanic ash known as tuff.
