Low dark gray rain clouds above rolling hills blocking the sunshine. The Ngorongoro Crater is 14 miles (22.5 km) wide and 2000 ft (610 m) deep. The Crater floor is level and has a lake that is feed from streams that run down the crater walls. Red and white clover grows in the crater and this rich pastureland attracts over 70,000 wild animals.
